The Ministry of Defence Art Collection: protecting, conserving and displaying publicly-owned works of art to ensure that our Armed Forces’ heritage is preserved for future generations.
But why does the Collection exist? Why does the Ministry of Defence own works of art at all? What’s in the Collection? How is it managed? Although the Art Collection management team maximize the opportunity for public visibility of the archive there are many people who would like to know more.
And so the team have created a new website in order to share the Collection with as many as possible – by selling a specially produced high-quality art book, a DVD, and a selection of prints of some of the Collection’s most popular works.
Profits from the sale of items on this website will help to offset the costs of conserving the Collection, thus helping to ensure that future generations will also be able to appreciate and enjoy our history.
