Paul CunninghamWelcome to the UK Ministry of Defence’s Disposal Services web site. It has been in operation since 2004 and is the sole presence for the DSA on the Internet.

The purpose of the site is to enable individuals and organisations to buy items from the Disposal Services’ Contractors which are surplus to requirements. It also enables organisations to declare surplus assets to the Disposal Services, and also enables carefully selected partners to reach their respective electronic markets.

Our primary business is the safe disposal of all surplus MOD assets and to facilitate the sale of capital assets, such as warships and aircraft, to other Governments. In 2008 we were recognised and promoted as a Core Shared Service offering a disposal service for the whole of the Public Sector and the Disposal Services were awarded the e-Government Award for Excellence in Shared Services for 2008 in January 2009. The website is constantly being reviewed and updated offering new services for the Public Sector and sales channels for the Public including:

  • The ability to purchase surplus items (e.g. clothing, and vehicles,)
  • The ability to purchase fine prints from the MoD’s Art Gallery.
